(Boulder-CO) I mentioned before that Artis Gilmore was a participant in the very first dunk contest held at McNichols Sports Arena in Denver, Colorado. The other four participants were Julius Erving of the New York Nets, Larry "Special K" Kenon and George "The Ice Man" Gervin of the San Antonio Spurs, and Denver's own David "Skywalker" Thompson.
