(Denver-CO) The wheels keep turning on this eight-game road trip and tonight on the tail-end of back-to-back games the Nuggets get their second chance against the Magic. Here's five key points on tonight's game that tips off in just 90 minutes.
1. Jameer Nelson is out with a shoulder injury. This is means a huge advantage for the Nuggets' Chauncey Billups. Look for Mr. Big Shot to have a big game.
2. Chris Andersen is listed as questionable, but I would say it's more like doubtful. The Bird suffered a left wrist sprain and left hip contusion vs.Miami on 2/10. X-rays taken at the arena were negative. The Nuggets are going to have to compensate for his energy and defense and I'm looking in the direction of Renaldo Balkman. Time to step up, Balky. Show us why you're on the team!
3. Carmelo Anthony needs to shoot the ball well tonight. 5-15 is unbecoming of a player of his caliber. Turkoglu isn't much of a defender and I would like to see 'Melo have a nice night offensively.
4. Nene and Dwight Howard exchanged some hot words the last time they met. Keep an eye on the chippiness between these two bigs and see who gets into foul trouble.
5. This is a trap game for both teams. It is the last game before the All-Star break and both teams have enough distractions going on this weekend to drive a coach crazy. The Prodigy and D-12 both have the dunk contest, and Rashard Lewis will also participate in the game itself. Bottom line is the team that takes the most professional approach to this game is probably going to win. Let's hope Denver isn't already on vacation.
Go Nuggets!
