(Denver-CO) I'm sorry but this isn't going to be much of a recap. I have only two things to say about the Denver Nuggets' performance against the Pacers and then I'm out of here.

The first is very simple. The Nuggets tried to BS their way (again) through a game against a team without their star in an attempt to win. Against the Pacers, that wasn't good enough, as the 100-96 final indicates. But, what really chaps my hide about the way Denver played was it was actually good enough to win the game and they didn't! The Nuggets were leading by seven headed into the fourth quarter where their record used to be an unblemished 31-0, but because of a 19-point offensive offering, allowing 32 points, and not being able to grab a rebound in the final three minutes of the quarter they are now 31-1 when entering the fourth quarter with the lead. The fourth quarter was as despicable of an effort as the Nuggets have shown all year.

The second aspect that has me pissed about last night's game is it was a loss to the third different team in the Eastern Conference's Central Division that not only has a losing record, but who will also probably not make the playoffs. The Bucks, Bulls, and Pacers are teams a REAL contender beats, but the Nuggets failed to clean their plate when facing said teams and proved to me either A) they are not a REAL contender or B) Something needs to be done administratively to make sure the Nuggets are ready to play night-in and night-out. Because if they are a real contender... Not only would Troy Murphy been held down to earth instead of posting 22 points and 18 rebounds, but they would have been able to pull out a win against a Danny Granger-less Pacers squad regardless of where the game took place.

That's it!

If you want to have someone analyze a terrible, putrid loss and give you a warm and fuzzy feeling about "one that slipped away " go visit another Nuggets blog. There are a few in particular that I'm sure would be happy to illustrate how the Nuggets "almost" won this game, but only offer excuses instead of the real skinny on why Denver fell short. I'm not that guy and I refuse to sugar-coat a piss-poor loss like last night for the intelligent fans in the Nuggets Nation.

I hold you in higher regard than to piss on your leg and tell you it's raining! The Nuggets didn't deserve to win that game and the basketball Gods recognized their half-ass effort and punished them accordingly.

Go... Go... find a way to beat a team you should and play like that every night!
