Nuggets of Note 9/18/09

(Denver-CO) Just a short stack of notable Nuggets today, Nuggets Nation. But, judging by the rumors that are out there it should be a busy week ahead.

- Sources said the Nuggets early this month made a minimum contract offer of $1.1 million to free-agent guard Ronald "Flip'' Murray. However, Murray, perhaps hoping to get a deal worth the biannual exception of $1.99 million, has still yet to accept it. Keith Bogans is also in the running for the Nuggets' back up shooting guard position.

- Desmond Mason is no longer in the running for the Nuggets.

- The Denver Nuggets have two players in the NBA's top 25 according to Eddie Johnson of HoopHype.

- Carmelo gets a shot at Kobe Bryant, and true to form the Mamba is already talking trash.

- 'Melo on stereotyping athletes, "I try to stay in the background more with that. Athletes get stereotyped all the time, because we only can do one thing — we can only play basketball. So we get stereotyped. I can’t work for SLAM? I can’t be a photographer? I hate when people say that. You know what? We do sh*t too! You didn’t know me before I started playing basketball. You don’t know what I wanted to grow up to be when I was a kid in school."
