(Denver-CO) Believe it or not, Nuggets Nation, the season is less than two weeks away. Yet still, the current Nuggets roster stands at, realistically in terms of having a real shot of making the team, 14 players.

Per NBA rules:

“Each team is required to carry 12 players on its active list and at least one player on its inactive list. Teams may have a maximum of three players on its inactive list, which includes any players sent to the NBA Developmental League.

The active and inactive list can be set on a game-by-game basis, one hour before tip-off, with no length of stay required for either list. If, for example, a star player is injured and forced to sit out one or two games, the coach can place him on the inactive list and "activate" another player, giving the team a full 12 players available to play.”

This means there could be room for both Joey Graham and James White on the inactive list (assuming that Johan Petro’s size is a must have), but given the economic times and the Nuggets still being a shade over the salary cap tax level of $69.92 million. It’s unlikely both will be kept.

On the one hand, James White is a tremendous athlete who, with the Nuggets or not, I believe is on the cusp of being a productive player in the NBA with raw potential to be much more. The only downfall to keeping White is his inexperience in the NBA.

On the other, Joey Graham is a four-year veteran role player who has played meaningful minutes for the Toronto Raptors while putting up very Linas Kleiza-like numbers. He’s got an NBA ready body and is battle tested.
